Southeast Surge is excited to welcome Kyle Ferguson as the 2025/26 U13A Head Coach. Kyle who was born, raised and lives in Mount Forest with his family, played his minor hockey career in Mount Forest on their various Rep teams growing up from Mites to Juvenile.
My love for the game stayed with me after playing minor hockey, so it wasn’t long till I started helping coach on various teams in Mount Forest in my early 20’s. Over the past 16 years I’ve been involved in being an head coach, assistant coach, trainer, IP program director and President of Mount Forest Minor Hockey. I’ve been very fortunate to coach some great kids along the way and some I’ve coached since they were just learning how to skate.
My last few seasons as a head coach have been:
-2021/22 Mt Forest U9 Rep WOAA Hodge Division Champions
-2022/23 Mt Forest U11 Rep
-2022-2024 Impact Hockey AA Spring Hockey
My goal as a coach has always been to help develop the kids individual skill set as well as teach the game of hockey as they progress through the various competitive levels of the game. I believe in a hard work ethic on the ice in games and in practices. Have respect and sportsmanship for coaches, referees, teammates and opponents. And to create a fun team environment with players and parents.
I’m excited for the upcoming inaugural season of the Southeast Surge!! And I look to establish a competitive team atmosphere for the players where they can enhance their hockey skills, hockey knowledge and establish lifelong friendships along the way.
